Capoeira Fitness Tip of the Week

This feature is designed to give you functional training tools for your off days when you are not training capoeira. We will be looking at various exercises that we will have as resources for you to devise a strategy for your overall physical development as a capoeirista.

The goals are:

Overall Physical Health

Promoting Longevity

Improved Performance in your capoeira training and game

 

Over the past few weeks quite a few questions about posture and shoulder health have been asking in class.  Here is another nice exercise for the back of your shoulder health.  If you don't have a stability ball like in the video, you can perform this in a squat position.  If yo don't have those types of weights for resistance, the a resistance bcd, or even just the weight of your own arms will work too!

This week we pick back up our overall health in the work environment since we capoeiristas have to pay the bills like everyone else.  This is a fascinating solution, that i have to say looks pretty brilliant.  IWe first heard about this from Xerife, and now we want one!

Beatuiful in its simplicity.  Sometimes one has to ask, when was the last time you sprinted?  When was the last time you jumped?  Here is a simple and fun exerceise for jumping that will boost your explosion in your capoeira.  Key thing...  It only works if you do it.  ;)
